Ever heard of a “Barbie back”? It’s an emerging beauty trend that many women opt for, even if it means going under the knife. To get the doll look, fat is removed and the back is shaped using Vaser technology, a high-tech form of liposuction. Love handles are sculpted and dimples are created in the lower back to create a V-shape in the sacral region of the back like Barbie’s.
The treatment is less intrusive, requires no general anesthetic, and can even be a “walk-in, walk out” treatment. Dr. Mike Comins, a plastic surgeon states that “the lower back has always been a beautiful region of the female body; and I think it’s great that women are realizing its importance. Globally, aesthetic surgery the buttocks is one of the fastest-growing segments of plastic surgery, but in the clinic, once you begin to look at this area you find that the back is equally important, and one fails to look good without the other.”
What do you think? Would you opt for the “Barbie back” procedure?
