Tiger Woods “feeling great” after rehab

05th Dec 2014

Tiger Woods is making his comeback to golf after a recent back injury, with plans on extending his illustrious career.

In addition to a new teacher and a stronger body, Woods says he is working on a swing that will incorporate previous moves that date back to his amateur days. He called it “new, but old”, and will test it out against an 18-man field of elite players at the Hero World Challenge.

He watched his previous swings on a VHS recorder. Woods said, “Actually, it’s pretty interesting trying to find a VHS recorder. I have a lot of tape like that. Fortunately, my mom is of the age where she has that still in the house. So that was very beneficial to look at some of the old tapes.”

This is the fifth time in five years Woods has returned from injury. The breaks have ranged from 4 weeks to 4 months.

Woods says, “I’ve gotten stronger. I’ve gotten more explosive. I’ve gotten faster. I now just need to hit more balls. But the body is good. I don’t have the sharp pain like I used to at the beginning of the year. I still have some aches and pains, just like anybody else who is my age and older.”

Will Woods be game ready? “Probably not quite as I would like to be,” Woods says. “We’ll see on Thursday”.
